Aujourd'hui, nous parlons de la Beauté, et plus précisément, du sens que l'on lui donne. Notre invitée Julia a travaillé sur le Beauty Project, dirigé par Second Echo Ensemble, une compagnie de théâtre inclusive basée à Hobart, en Tasmanie. Dirigé par Elise Romaszko, le Beauty Project est une représentation interactive qui nous rappelle que nous sommes tous humains et que nous avons tous le désir de nous sentir à la mode, que nous vivions avec ou sans handicap. En tant que coordinatrice du projet, Julia nous parle des stéréotypes entourant la beauté et de sa définition même et comment l'art peut nous aider à comprendre et à accepter ce qui nous rend unique pour un monde plus inclusif.
About the guest speaker
Julia est une artiste sonore française basée à lutruwita/Tasmanie. Elle a obtenu son doctorat sur le theme de l’art de la marche et de son impact radiophonique dans l’espace public en 2011. Julia s'intéresse aux ondes sonores, fluides et sociales en lieux spécifiques, souvent explorées de manière collaborative. Son travail, qui mêle performance, dessin, fréquence électromagnétique et plus encore, a été présenté en Europe, Hong Kong, au Brésil, en Afrique du Sud et en Australie.
(Today, we talk about beauty and what it means for each and every one of us. Julia has been working on the Beauty Project, run by Second Echo Ensemble, an inclusive theatre company based in Hobart, Tasmania. Directed by Elise Romaszko the Beauty Project is an interactive, live performance that reminds us that we are all human, and that we all have a desire to feel fashionable whether we live with or without a disability. As a project coordinator, French-speaking Julia talks about the stereotypes surrounding beauty and its very definition and how art can help us examine our societal reflections and, ideally, help us understand and embrace our uniqueness for a more inclusive world.
About the guest speaker
Julia is a French sound artist based in Lutruwita/Tasmania. She completed her doctorate on the theme of the art of walking and its radio impact in public space in 2011. Julia is interested in sound, fluid and social waves in specific places, often explored in a collaborative way. Her work, which combines performance, drawing, electromagnetic frequency and more, has been presented in Europe, Hong Kong, Brazil, South Africa and Australia.
