(Many people with disabilities enjoy going to clubs and pubs because they are inclusive and welcoming venues. However, the opportunity to gamble at these venues may pose a risk to people's wellbeing if they develop risky gambling behaviours. Feeling in control of your money and your actions is an important part of having independence.
The Chinese Peer Support Program is a telephone service (1300 755 878) for people or their families and friends who are experiencing harm from gambling. It is staffed by Chinese speaking volunteers who have been through their own or a family member's issue in relation to out-of-control gambling behaviour.
