(A day of sea, sand and sun is great for the soul! Australia has some of the best beaches in the world, and many of them are accessible to people with disabilities, such as those who use wheelchairs or other kinds of mobility aids. Altona Beach and St Kilda Beach are great examples of this.

About the storyteller
Pradeep Hewavitharana is an advocate for people with disabilities and uses a wheelchair himself. In this story, he explains how he contested his local council elections to promote the issue of inclusion and access in his area, and shares how others can do the same. Pradeep hopes to expand recreational, wheelchair-accessible entertainment facilities for the disabled and non-disabled communities, as well as programs that provide access to information and employment opportunities.
