(Our guest Dr. Kiran Thapa, is the owner of “The Chowk,” which is the first Nepalese pub in Australia. It symbolises Nepal's diversity by offering live music, festive cuisine and ambience. Dr Kiran JI mentions that the pub can be an important social space. It can provide a sense of community connection and increase capabilities. Pubs can be a good space for people with a disability as it is a place where many different types of people come together. Pubs offer a relaxed and welcoming environment where people can socialise and make friends. There are many pubs, restaurants and eateries in Hobart that are accessible for people with disabilities, featuring lots of cultural cuisines to be enjoyed.
