(How can we draw wisdom from deep-rooted traditions and convictions to make multicultural communities more open and accepting of all, including people with disabilities? In this interview, Salwa speaks about her contribution with other volunteers to strengthening social connections and spreading awareness about services for people with disabilities available in Australia by volunteering with St Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church SA.
About the guest speaker
Salwa Wardeh Madbek works as a volunteer with the Parish of St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church in Adelaide, South Australia through the program Cultural Connections in Disability. The Church started offering this program in 2020 together with other community organisations and under the leadership of the Multicultural Communities Council of South Australia. The program aims to raise awareness about services available to the South Australian community including people with disabilities.
